Back from holiday
The Rhiz.eu team is freshly back from holidays. Batteries are reloaded and we’re eager to see what you've been up to lately! So, share your summer-stories and check our selection of highlights from the website.
Summertime travel stories
Most of you have been travelling or still are. Whether these summer months have taken you to usual destinations, or you've ventured into unfamiliar settings, we want to hear all about your travel stories.
We're looking for vivid impressions of places you visited or passed through this summer; the cultures you encountered, the arts and culture scene of a particular city or region... share your thoughts, reactions, reflections, etc. in text and/or photos.

Dare to Move Out Loud
Filipe Viegas ( Bomba Suicida ) and Brahim Sourny ( 11.0rg ) are jointly developing a contemporary dance and video project: choreographers and dancers can upload a video of a solo dance, aroun 1,5 minutes long, starting with the last movement of the solo that the previous artist has uploaded. The result is a chain of movement, an online choreography that crosses frontiers, languages, cultures, religions and socio-economic differences – sharing experiences, universes, imaginary, stories, feelings, desires or despairs from all over the world. Move Out Loud is powered by Rhiz.eu and supported by ECF's "Making collaboration work" Grants, among other partners - find MOL here.

Where are you now?
Martin John Callanan is triggered by the information technology and how we are using it as extensions of our own bodies. In his artistic expressions, Martin plays with his virtual and physical presences, as well as those of passers-by.
In his own words, Martin is "a European artist and researcher, exploring notions of citizenship within the globally connected world. In an attempt to become the absolute citizen, Martin John Callanan will continually and openly publish his physical location live. I am contactable, and I am findable, in the digital world. It is easy to find me, write to me, work with me, and speak to me. However, people have trouble meeting the physical me, in the physical world. I have become so findable and so contactable: I hide."

POST IT here
Some of our most active users took the initiative to announce on Rhiz.eu what they have to offer to their peers and what they are looking for - internship/volunteer positions, space, partners for specific projects...
Well, we got your hint and created a section on the website that is dedicated to collecting such posts, so that they are easier to find by all. Here you can post a query (ex. internship). If there is a match, you are contacted by the person who found your post-it. Check it out POST IT here.

Upcoming events on Rhiz.eu
Go to our calendar and see what's on in September:
ECF latest events and news
1 Sep ..::.. ECF Artistic Grants application deadline
Just a few days left for artists to submit their proposals to ECF Artistic Project Grants. This is a brand new funding line

12-14 Sep ..::.. I AM HERE, THE TIME IS NOW meeting (2nd Face to Face LAB), Rotterdam
Instead of the large social cultural narratives, I AM HERE is very much about individual choices and ultimately about empowerment through recognising the power of the human being. The programme provocatively suggests that the individual makes the choice of aligning himself/herself with communities. I AM HERE, THE TIME IS NOW is a synapse, a public forum of ideas through artists, created by the European Cultural Foundation (ECF) and artistic director Ong Keng Sen. We look forward to seeing you there!
And what is happening in the Rhiz.eu community in September?
1 June-27 Sep ..::.. 'How to become a Millionaire' performance, Riesi (Italy)
29 Aug-1 Sep ..::.. 'Damir Imamovic Trio' concert and discussion 'Sevdah Changes', Belgrade
30 Aug ..::.. 'WLTM - The Event' exhibition and event, Nottingham
18-21 Sep ..::.. 'Surpas Festival' of popular culture, Portbou (Spain)
