"as if to nothing, Charles Darwin crying and other works", solo-exhibition, Tokyo
online-catalogue now available
My starting point for this solo-exhibition was the artwork Boîte-en-valise, or box in a suitcase by Marcel Duchamp, which is a portable miniature monograph including sixty-nine reproductions of the artist's own work.
The idea was, to create a lightweight-exhibition I could travel with in a simple portfolio-map.
Furthermore my intention was to create an introductory exhibition to my artwork by showing a scope of artworks from the years 2008-10.
The exhibition also marks a stronger use of photography in my artwork. The photographies introduced mark a shift from a documentarian photography to a use of photography interplaying the documentation of artworks in public space that only exist for a moment. These are accompanied by photography that illustrate and comment on concepts of art in public space.
