WHO

Everyone who is registered on Rhiz.eu can enter the competition.
Contestants must have a personal profile here, including contact details (address and telephone)

WHAT

Make a background for our homepage that blends in pefectly with the content of the Rhiz.eu homepage, but that can also stand alone in printed material.

We are looking for quality entries that express:
- Cultural diversity
- Personal experiences
- Look and feel of Rhiz.eu (website structure, colours, etc.)
- Aims and mission of Rhiz.eu (check out what we’re all about here

Your entry should consist of 2 versions of the same image:
1. One version of the image for online use (faded or toned down)
Please make sure that this version fits with homepage content (text and coloured squares). The background should not distract attention from the actual content of the homepage.

2. One version of the same image for printing (stronger tone)

There are 5 PRIZES of 300 EURO each for the top eligible proposals!

HOW - 2 STEPS

1. On Rhiz.eu, create a project page how to do this?) and upload low-resolution images of your design (2 versions as explained above).
- Only 1 entry per person.
- Images in 72dpi.
- Add the following keyword (Complete with " "): "Rhiz.eu homepage background competition April'08"

2. Later, IF YOU ARE AWARDED with one of the 5 prizes, we will ask you to submit within 3 days, by e-mail, 2 high-resolution versions of your background design (one for online use, another for printing).

Keep in mind how the image will show on Rhiz.eu homepage: image size and edge (consider tiling, seamless edge, scroll, ...), as well as file compression, etc. Make sure that the image fits with the main elements of the homepage.

WHEN

Closing date of the competition was 15 May 2008. Although everyone is very welcome to upload their background creation any time, please note that backgrounds created AFTER this date will not be taken into account for this competition.

Selection & Results

A professional jury appointed by the European Cultural Foundation (ECF) will select the 5 winners of the competition. The criteria used by the jury to select the winners will be the artistic quality and translation of cultural diversity and personal experiences into a convincing, young and strong design fitting perfectly with Rhiz.eu.

Results will be posted on Rhiz.eu by end of May. If your background makes it to the TOP 5, you’ll get 300 euro. Are all contact details on your personal profile up to date? If you're a prize winner, you don’t want to miss our e-mail…

Depending on the quality of the works submitted, the number of awarded proposals may be limited or the competition could be cancelled altogether if the jury decides so.

Ladies and gentlemen, old-school or high-tech: sharpen your pencils, clean your brushes, fine-tune your screens… And good luck!

Make sure that your entry to the "Rhiz.eu homepage background competition April 2008" complies with our general Rhiz.eu competitions terms & conditions.
