ENTROPIA
Theatre & Cultural Organization
The non-profit Cultural Organization ENTROPIA based at the homonymous Theatre in the center of Athens, was established in 1996, aiming to gather young artists together, to promote a creative dialogue among different art disciplines, as well as to establish a flow of exchanges between Greece and the International Contemporary Art Scene.
ENTROPIA has produced numerous theatre plays, organized various cultural events, hosted and collaborated in projects with many artists and groups from Greece and abroad, in the field of theatre, dance theatre, performance art, poetry, music, visual arts, films, multimedia.
In 2003 the Company proceeded in establishing the annual International Alternative Stage Festival (F.E.S.), hosting emerging and established artists and groups from almost every discipline, with an emphasis on Performing Arts, strong educational aspect and wide cooperation with social institutions.
ENTROPIA is a member of various Networks, such as IETM (International Network for Contemporary Performing Arts), Magdalena Project, PRISMA Forum, etc.
Since 2007 is one of the seven main "Houses" of the European @work Network of stage artists (www.atworknetwork.org, the rest six groups being: TeaterKUNST - Denmark, Reality Research Center - Finland, Teatermaskinen - Sweden, The Red Room – U.K., Dirty Deal Teatro - Latvia and Emmanuelle - Germany), that first appeared in 2005 and right now includes members – "Satellites" in 10 countries. The Network's current Project deals with the subject of "Civilization" [last Workspace/Performance took place in Helsinki at the BALTIC CIRCLE Festival (18-22 November 2009)].
