Liminal Institute
Institute For Social Transfusion, Creative And Applied Sciences
The Institute was established with the aim of transmitting different methods and theoretical assumptions among different scientific and artistic disciplines, with the purpose of establishing new and alternative links between them as well as reestablishing old ones which have been interrupted.
We work to establish connections between academic and non-academic contexts, though without differentiating between elite and popular cultures. We connect scientific and applicative discourse and establish equality among different areas and realities.
Liminal wishes to establish a fluid connection space between different discourses. The etymology of the term liminal leads us to the Latin word “limen”, which means “doorstep”, and therefore implies something in-between, hybrid, liminal, marginal and doubtful — and especially something which opens to the inside as well as to the outside. Liminal is a space of transition, a “temporarily freed territory” which eliminates set limitations of spirit, thought and action. This elimination opens possibilities for new perspectives and schemas.
