EVRENSEL ÜRÜM (evros)

Evros is an artistic name which animisticly symbolize my statement in art. Being a river between Turkey and Greece, being a border either... being a life vessel, belonging to both sides, but also vice verca... having the name of greek version for a turkish artist is to smybolize a meeting with the “other”...

Graduated from textile and fashion design, taking lectures from painting(drawing and atelier) and photography (reading of photography), my works were evolved both from painting and fabric based interdisciplinary projects around 2002-2005.

Working in illustration of textile digital printing 2006-2008 exposed with digital art series. Lately working on graphic design based projects for about 2 years combined them using typography, political and popular symbols on installed projects with fabrics and natural material.

Most of my works have a colorful nomadic aesthethic, using mainly applied arts regarding pluralism for alternative globalisation where try to criticize neo-liberal system, alienisation and consume based life style with casual-nationalism.
