Svitlana Azarova
Ukrainian composer of contemporary classical music. Resident of The Netherlands.
I graduated as composer in 2000 from Odessa State Conservatory.
In the next years I participated in several master-classes in Azerbaijan and the Czech republic, scholarships in Poland and Tirol and many festivals in Germany, Holland and elsewhere. During this period I organised many projects in Ukraine.
In 2005 I moved to Holland and decided to take a master degree in composition at the Amsterdam conservatory under Theo Loevendie. This was not only to develop myself and get inspiration, but also to get a better chance at integrating myself in the Dutch music society.
I am currently working on a piece for chamber orchestra commissioned by the Polish Institute in Ukraine and have been granted two composer residences during this summer.
