Aleksandar PEDOVIĆ - B52.
Art & graphic editor, illustrator, designer, multimedia artist, organizer of art events.
He graduated from The School for Applied Arts and the Pedagogical Faculty - art section in Novi Sad (RS).
From 1980 onwards, he has been editing and illustrating two magazines for children
"Mali Neven", and "Zornička".
He has done illustrations mainly for children and won prizes on book fairs in Belgrade and Novi Sad. His illustrations were exhibited at numerous exhibitions in the country and abroad (Spain, France, Slovakia, Japan, etc.), purchased (1999, Hiroko Mori & Stasys Museum, Japan) and prized (Golden pen - Belgrade 1984, 1988, 1993; International Book Fair 1994, 1998; Zmaj’s Children’s Games, Novi Sad 1985, International book fair in Novi Sad 1999…). He was a member of the international jury for the Biennial of European Illustration in Japan.
From 1981, he has been a member of UPIDIV (Association of Applied Art Artists and Designers of Vojvodina), and on three occasions, he was the member of the executive board and from the end of 1999, he presided over UPIDIV.
He is one of the founders, secretary and the member of the “Ex libris association of Vojvodina” (founded 1997 in Novi Sad).
From high school he worked on developing the multimedia approach to arts and design with results in many different areas, and with prizes for art work in each successive year.
He worked on: illustration, interior design, poster design, unique ceramics, tapestry, extended media, unique design (The Round Table project), photography, graphic design, C.A.D., digital graphic...
Particularly interesting is the project of uniquely designed round tables "The Round Table", started in 1995.
In the early days of digital graphic, in 1984 – more than 20 years ago, he published the first digital illustration for the children’s magazine "Mali Neven".
This "movement" through many different art disciplines is the result of intensive experimentation of his art character, and represents the dominant character of his integral art work.
In all art disciplines, he has achieved significant results (First prize for painting on Novi Sad painting salon 1982), and all of this is certified by the participation and prizes at many exhibitions in the country and abroad.
In 1999, he established an impressive regional project - "The Iwano Project", in collaboration with the Japanese, and with the participation of numerous artists from the countries of the region. This project represents the "connection" between the remote Japanese traditional culture - 900 years old technique of making original hand-made paper, and its combination with the cultural heritage of South-East Europe (www.iwano.org.yu), resulting in a brand new combination of culture and art products.
Up to now, there have been numerous large-scale collective exhibitions with the participation of about 30 artists from the countries from our region, more precisely, five cycles in: Novi Sad, Beograd, Vršac, Subotica (SCG), and in Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina), and Pula (Croatia)...
His work was one of seven chosen, in the selection of 1300 works, at the world competition for graphic design of the logo for the annual conference of Unesco “Intangible Cultural Heritage”.
The last activity is the EAC international art project…
