Canan Marasligil

I'm a writer, an editor, a literary translator and screenwriter.

As a literary translator, I was trained to work from English to French but I have chosen to focus my 'translator's energy on contemporary Turkish literature in the last few years.

I've also worked on education and arts projects for the British Council in Amsterdam for three years and a half years. Before moving to Amsterdam, I worked as a press officer for the Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels (BOZAR).

I am now establishing myself as a freelancer to work independently on film and literature projects.

Current writing projects include a recently finalized short story collection (in French), a short play aimed to be performed for young people (in French), a script for short film in progress (in English) and an anthology of Turkish New Writing that I will edit and translate in French for e-book publisher publie.net.
